About the journal

Beautiful, lived-in
and a little peculiar.

Domestic Folklore is an independent journal about old houses, handmade things and the stories we attach to them.

I’m Lucy, a digital professional living in an old house in the Cotswolds. Away from a screen I’m usually attempting to make something—sewing, decorating, gardening, collecting old objects or disappearing down a research rabbit hole about some peculiar local tradition.

This is somewhere to document that process: learning to make things properly, rather than perfectly.
